New Financial Year Old Transactions!!!

Yes it is true !! New years have arrived but this time of "Financial meaning" still a new year ..Best way to avoid talking to all or any one...Financial closing is on so is busy, we'll talk after its over... But now no more as new year has begun...old transaction and more of talking, follow ups n deals..
Well i hope the calender new year did not bring much joy...neither birthday new year.. Let's just hope This not to be worse than the previous ones...

Learn Unlearn & Learn

The only rule in merchandising I suppose is no rule to follow. Well the past two weeks have been in support of my argument as when you ask colleagues around you they insist what they say is right. Rest you decide to follow or not, & when u don't then "I told you this earlier " is about to be fired at you.
The process what I was described as to "zero in" Vendor suitable for product is to initiate a competition and see the factors in each of them and choose a winner.Well reality is not always theory so I am learning the practical of it.
Two visits to offices of vendor, some tea,lunch etc and even meeting people seeking Job and being a "problem solver" considering all other problems too of various quarters of people.(I am myself new is not acceptable to anyone I believe..late joining doesn't show up in face I guess)
It sometimes becomes very heavy to cope up to "goodness" or "bhala admi " as all address ,I believe thus reason enough why some people turn stringy by nature.
Learning at every moment and organizing them situationally.

Mar-i-age..Att..ended by Tr-(p)ain-ees !!!

A treasure hunt to venue...wrong entry to multiple venue...threat of bike lifting...absense of invitation card..Hungry stomach..worse (Office) dressed ..wonderful pillion wearing Ai-Sa-Hi marked Helmet (the other Trainee)...and lots of Vendorful talks..marked the attendance of me and my colleague into the marriage of our senior, our PL Team Lead...although we directed our BOSS to the right venue later in the evening by standing at the crucial turning from NH .&.utilising the wait time by- all open enquiry for passerby...but still managed to get the distinction(Gold medal) of reaching the marriage and leaving the marriage venue early (first)...as..I had to be back home and Trainee to his hostel.
Well for both of us it was extended office hour, but for all it was celebration with nice dresses and make up...probably we two gained lots of stare for not being properly dressed.and groomed..at least some attention we could gather....Team Lead saw us...Boss saw us...But we missed the newly wed's better half...again creating opportunity for another get together...

New products and their stories

Never expected the amount of research and talking that goes with numerous vendor just for updating a product would consume my days so fast.
I have been trying to talk to all vendors, suppliers and look to history of each product and all other issues.
The month of Feb began too , had earlier imagined it will be a lovy-dovy month. Realised it now only for those who are out on leave. The work load increases and you got to understand how to cover up the effort of those on leave.
Well earlier case I did it, now it's my turn to take responsibility.
Work kills creativity...

Work redistributed !! Some thing in my kitty

Work of product managers are redistributed. It is now done to specialize each product manager in there range of products. Well I am now assigned a new range (can't say ;company terms u know).
The only hint that can be given is, it's a range of product which is an asset for girls and when you say for guy it remains a asset till the time it is present.Once it's vanished only memory remains.
The range is many and today I was thinking to expand the range with new variety of products.Now even I am in thought based mode. To do something different, improve up on existing.

Oh! Whats this Now!!!

The whole product range has slipped from us to our sister brand. All the talking converted itself to learning. Well whatever I never knew there could be end like this to my work. I am again back to zero.
The life is now running like snakes and ladders where there are snakes to keep you back to start and all depends on how much you throw on dice.Final luck again plays a role.
Now re-aligning with some existing products and its performance under our PL.

Every decision has it's life.

Today  I might sound philosophical but it's true. The product in design table remains there as the vendor now doesn't agree with finance part of deal. Well the first setback or learning that this happens in the merchandising firms. You cannot just work in a flow you have to work in steps.
Well I learn that you should have large amount of vendors and large amount of option for you to make choice.
I was trying to adjust with my alter ego saying " It is my words we shall do it "  now  either I have to stop giving words or just pass on the decision making to people above you. I believe the second option much fruitful as the company decides what it should do with its money hence I can only give ways.
New learning for me.
My decision has now outlived its life and has changed with new components in it. 

Product on design table

It feels really an achievement when u feel your product has reached at design table for labling, the costing is done and Issuance of Purchase Order remaining only.
It let me feel like this decision  of yours will remain even if you are there in company or not forever. Your product response would surely be comments on your work.
I have wondered that a brand having 10 yrs of age must have seen many people work for it to make it successful. If it has gained a brand loyalty then Kudos !! to all the decision taken when it was launched and when it was accepted in market. It is really unpredictable and cannot be judged before hand for any one.

Today in internet age the work is much faster and easier and information to make your decision is available in plenty. its just splendid and I am enjoying this feeling for sure. I might turn poetic to express it ...

E-mail ID arrived ! authentic employee

E-mail Id behind your name creates the impression of formal employee of the organization. Thus with my new e- mail ID arriving on the 5th of jan afternoon I become a formal employee too.
The happiness is immense but going with the saying it is the "end that matters not the means" I have to perform and create my product thats the final stage.
My google Id will remain a CC Id as I have already made it for my business associates.(Right now none but surely will have some in future)
Well do u give a treat when you get an email Id , an employee medicine credit book and a bank statement showing some one other than your father is going to pay for your learning you do with them..
Well I am joyed enough but limits are none.

BOSS and Me !!!

It's rare to find a BOSS like this who is there to guide you in doing business.
I completely accept I am a novice and my BOSS calls me on the first day of year and really motivated me.
He gave me 5 products and thus "push me in the water!" . Now its real work and its serious for the reason the products touches the life of people as essential rather than a luxury need.
I cannot tell anything about the product as I would be offending my treaty of work here with apollo.
I do not want to do anything which I consider wrong. As doing them would be foolish because before hand I know they are wrong so no learning here.
Boss says any work shown without convincing reason and logic would make me come under his line of fire. So i better have every reason to support each alphabet and word comprehending my work.

This is what is thought which came across my mind but got to wait and watch.

It's New Years !

During schools it was holiday, during college we made it holiday and during gap years every day is same.This time in my 25 yrs it was different and it is working day! I am at office and celebrating new years wishing every body here. !st of Jan in Office!! well it makes me feel .. I don't have words but it is different.

I thought of bringing in some music , guitar n all but could not as in reality I lacked guts. It is office and not a musical stage. One day of casualness would hamper the work ethics.

There is lot of flexibility given and if i do this it would be taking undue advantage...well this is what dropped in my head...

Happy NEW YEAR 2010 .. the decade begins..and I want to tribute to Y2k problem which made millennium difficult but created a solution forever.
