My vacation are over and I am back.

The good thing is that the work i was assigned of finding a PET bottle manufacturer with desired shape sent us his sample and it was liked by PL Team.

That's not all ! I felt homely or very well part of Team. The grapevine meets during lunch have made me into the discussions.

The only thing is it is a year end which is the greatest of all weekend hence the work is not in progress any where.

Planning has no vacation and we are planning to increase products options thus...planning is the efficient work what i am doing now.

Vacation

The best thing about going for a leave is personally you are happy.(although depends on reasons, mine here is vacation). The first time I asked for leave was with the end of first week of the work. Well past july 2005 I was on a big vacation and I had thought that the occasional seasonal exams I was giving were the reason of leave from my “great vacations.”

Well its not that I do not like vacations now but it is more about the reason behind a vacation which makes it more enjoyable. This time it is : my first leave from my work . I applied to get it.!!!

Well its traveling , which is reason enough for the human spread around the world. (The recent report of India being the motherland of human species in asian region! has affected me a lot). My own vacation is thus dedicated to this report.

The TEAM

As the experience of work itself is new even to get introduced and work together was itself an experience.Well during college days one would have thought I was a socialising master talking , convincing and getting the work done.Well all of it faded to dust after july 2005 when I decided to remain undecided.

So to talk and open mouth itself came as daunting task to me in the work environment.

Well soft to began at ..reserve enough to socialise and look into rather stare. All the articles of newspaper about work culture "how to's" "why to's" flashed in my brain. I again suppressed it and remain silent (listening).

I met Anumeha Madam as our Boss introduced me to her. I was told she would be the torch bearer and guide me through all my questions of what,why,where,when and how. Well she again introduced me to all in the PL-merchandising room.

A name and Hi...same i responded with hello and a handshake wherever in reach...I could neither remember name ..face...voice...oh the good old ragging training had become obsolete where fresher would have to memorize the names of all standing (approx 30 or more) and re introduce them..looks funny but was followed with punishments if failed to remember...(NOW RAGGING BANNED). Here I just said " I would meet them every day and will share my life's time with there's so no need to hurry and you would not be punished not the ragging way at least .

All those lessons of Line and Staff, Matrix organisation , Flat organisation , Kept on flashing oh these books had so many paragraphs but couldn't understand enough to write a 30 marks answer. Well now the real thing was waiting !! A new column in matrix , a flatness increased with my width(44" my waist).

Good I am a trainee...so learning is the first word and only word!!

The single most question that kept me bothering in all my B-School interviews and other important boards was the amount of gap years I had after my engineering. The year was 2005 where i stood at the point gazing high and confused what to do next?. Prepare ! prepare ! Prepare! for the subsequent entrance (ending with "ATs"). Well during engineering when studious were trying to open the GATE and become GREat. Rest like us were still trying to bell CAT now done with mouse.

Here the the healer , life giving heat and light god apollo (sun) extended hand with opportunity knocking at my doors. The Apollo Hospitals group accepted to adopt me as a management trainee in its merchandising department. It has taken the challenge of launching Private Label products under AHEL.

I joined on 7 December 2009 formally but our BOSS being great allowed to come on 4th , 5th to get into learning the concept, process and action in PL.

Well he believes in pushing in the pool to learn swimming rather than sitting outside and preparing a strategy.

My old funda of Archemedics Principle of larger volume body getting more upward force from water to keep it floating struck me again. But it would have looked as foolish to open mouth there . I just kept within myself..no matter what i will float. That might sound over-confident but the brain always pushes you to go ahead and motivates to learn new values under challenges which ultimately forms experience and in my case work experience
